Whether you’re coming from a community college or another four-year institution, we make transferring a seamless process.
  • Guaranteed Admission—If you graduate from a Virginia community college with a transfer-oriented degree and a cumulative 2.5+ GPA, you’re automatically admitted!
  • Maximize Your Credits—Your transfer-oriented degree waives Sweet Briar’s Leadership Core Curriculum, allowing you to immediately begin coursework for your major.
  • Who Qualifies as a Transfer Student? – If you’ve completed 24+ college credit hours after high school, you’ll apply as a transfer student. If you have fewer than 24 credits, complete the first-year student application.

Transfer Process

If you’re ready to apply, here’s your application checklist:

  1. Complete your application—Sweet Briar will accept our online application.

  2. Submit an unofficial transcript from each college attended. We will accept electronic copies directly from your school or via the National Student Clearinghouse or  Parchment.
